Head up to the YMCA where the kids can play in the game room while Mom and Dad takes a class or work out.
Grab some fresh produce at the farmer's' market and some cold cuts or a steak at Kelly's meat market. Head up to Moreland Park for a picnic, but stop first at the Overlook for a stunning view of the Valley. Be sure to check out the stone wall as you drive up the hill - it was built by the WPA during FDR's administration. Once in the park you can walk the trails and admire the stone cook house.
Go over to Veteran's Park and watch a baseball game.
Enjoy old-fashioned hot dogs and burgers at Kenicke's.
Have fun with an evening of bowling at George View Lanes.

The family can go play 9 holes at the Little Falls Municipal golf course.
Everyone convenes for lunch at the Ann Street Deli.
Afternoon take a tour of the Canal or rent kayaks and canoes at Rotary Park and paddle on your own, followed by a visit to Herkimer Home for the historic reenactments.
