3-day Itineraries

Friday:

  • Enjoy authentic cappuccino and pastry at Il CaffĂ©. Soak up the ambience of an Italian bistro and enjoy the artwork.
  • Meander along Main Street, stopping at the antique stores.
  • Enjoy lunch at the Ann Street Deli.
  • Spend the afternoon wandering amongst the antiques, looking for treasures.
  • Stroll through Burke Park and Ward Squareto enjoy the varied architecture of the homes.
  • For Dinner, order the roasted haddock atop greens at the Piccolo CafĂ© - exquisite!

Saturday:

  • Have one of the creative egg scrambles at Ann Street Deli for breakfast.
  • Wander the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts Gallery and Selective Eye gift shop for work by regional artists and one-of-a-kind, artistic, handcrafted gifts including pottery, jewelry, clothing, cards and more.
  • Outdoors, go across to Sterzinar Park where a modern industrial sculpture stands in the center against a backdrop of old stone and brick buildings.
  • Grab some homemade soup at Ole Sal's.
  • Check out the Saturday class at the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts.
  • Treat yourself to Oysters Rolande and a composed salad at Canal Side Inn bar. Ask Barbara to select the perfect glass of wine for you. Sit outside and enjoy the friendly hellos of passing folks.
  • Come out with the stars to take an evening stroll along the canal as blue shadows quietly overtake the ruddy rocks of Moss Island.

Sunday:

  • Grab a warm bagel and fresh piping hot coffee from White Rose Bakery while the sun creeps upwards.
  • Get inspired! Head down to the Canal with your sketchpad and catch the morning light on the water and rock formations.
  • Explore Moss Island with your camera and get some great photo reference you can use in your home studio for future watercolor projects.
  • Wander up to Fall Hill Bead and Gem for a jewelry making class and pick up some beads and gems to put together at home.
  • Take a scenic drive on your way out of town along the Dolgeville Road for some incredible views - and photo opps - of the entire Mohawk Valley.
